After more than 20 years in technology, leadership, and architecture roles, I’m currently combining long-term travel and development.

Led architecture work on one of New Zealand’s most unique strategic technology programmes — a collaboration between Vector and Google (Alphabet X), focused on transforming how energy is generated, managed, and used.

Responsibilities and achievements:

  • Designed scalable platform and integration patterns for next-generation energy initiatives
  • Developed architectural frameworks improving consistency, reuse and delivery efficiency
  • Provided strategic architecture governance for multi-million-dollar initiatives
  • Led architectural reviews ensuring alignment with business drivers, security and scalability
  • Mentored engineering teams and supported executive technology decision-making
  • Evaluated technologies, platforms and vendors shaping future direction

Digital Transformation & Service Manager

Vector — 2019 to 2021 | Auckland

Responsible for shaping and delivering technology transformation roadmaps across delivery, DevOps, and operational capability.

Key outcomes:

  • Managed multi-vendor relationships while optimising cost and improving service reliability
  • Defined KPIs and OKRs improving delivery visibility and operational decision-making
  • Led cross-functional engineering teams with ~$10M OPEX and ~$5M CAPEX responsibility
  • Achieved ~30% optimisation without reducing capability or performance

Led the organisation’s digital employee experience platforms, enabling mobility, remote work and collaboration — improvements that proved critical during the COVID-19 response.

  • Delivered roadmap and budget planning for enterprise end-user platforms
